Connor Hawke DC

Connor Hawke, the Green Arrow of the 1990s, has returned to DC lore with a brand-new costume invoking that decade. For a short period in the late 1990s, Connor Hawke, the son of Oliver Queen, replaced his father as Green Arrow. Now, as Absolute Power rages in the DC Universe, Connor Hawke has picked the mantle back up in Green Arrow #13, complete with an updated costume.

Green Arrow #13, part of the prelude to Absolute Power, is written by Joshua Williamson and drawn by Amancay Nahuelpan. Amanda Waller is turning up the heat on Earth’s meta human population, and Green Arrow Oliver Queen has seemingly defected to her side. As Team Arrow debates their next course of action, Connor Hawke emerges, saying that if his father shirks his duties as Green Arrow, then he will rise to the occasion.

The years since have not been kind to Connor. While his father returned to life just a few years later, Connor has drifted since Oliver took the mantle back. Subsequent stories revealed that Ollie knew about Connor, even when he said he did not, which altered the dynamic between them. Then, Connor was completely obliterated from the DC Universe after Flashpoint. After sitting out the New 52, Connor returned in the Rebirth era, becoming a full-fledged member of Team Arrow.
