Shadow Immigration Minister Dan Tehan says over time, outgoing Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’ legacy is going to be one in which he made the state and its people “poorer”. Mr Andrews announced his resignation on Tuesday, which will take effect at 5pm on Wednesday. The Victorian Labor caucus will decide on who will be Mr Andrews’ successor, which is likely to be Deputy Premier Jacinta Allan. “I think he’ll be remembered as a very good politician, very good at politics, but I think, sadly, over time, his legacy is going to be one in which he made the state of Victoria poorer, and he made Victorians poorer,” Mr Tehan told Sky News Australia. “While we wish him and his family well, the sad reality is it’s Victorians who are going to have to pick up the pieces of his nine years in charge of this state.”
