Slug and Lettuce, Be At One, and other pubs and bars across the country are owned by Stonegate
The UK's largest pub chain, which operates Slug and Lettuce bars and smaller venues, has revealed that it is grappling with £2.3bn in debt that it is struggling to refinance.
Reactions to the news that the UK's largest pub chain was facing issues servicing its debt were mixed, with some saddened by yet more bad news for the struggling hospitality sector, while others vented frustrations they had with the business.
"Our performance gives me real confidence in the future and excitement in seeing our strategy come to fruition. Notably our asset optimisation plan which makes sure we have the right pub in the right location, further profit improvement initiatives, and above all our efforts to continue to support the Great British pub.
