Celebrate Adams Morgan Day, take in the D.C. State Fair, tour the city by bike on car-free streets and listen to jazz on either side of the Potomac.
Teams of funny people from across the country perform at the ninth edition of the District Improv Festival, a three-day event at the Atlas Performing Arts Center revolving around long-form improv. The headliners this year are Will Hines and Jim Woods, veteran improvisers with Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City and Los Angeles. They will take a single audience suggestion and use it to riff for multiple scenes, countless jokes and perhaps some celebrity impressions.
Sunday’s home opener is sold out, but first, the team is hosting a pep rally in Franklin Park, featuring appearances by current and former players, the Commanders Marching Band and the Command Force dance squad, live entertainment and giveaways.Park View’s No Kisses is a cozy, moody little cocktail bar, but it’s long been overshadowed by its neighbor, Sonny’s Pizza, and the expansive back patio that the two businesses share with the neighboring ping-pong-and-coffee shop Doubles.
