The custom motocross-gear designer lends his style to a limited-edition Ford Mustang EcoBoost.
, and a unique limited-edition version will also be up for grabs. The Troy Lee Designs Signature Edition brings about some 1990s style with its radical multicolored stripe and galloping horse motif. But there is more than graphics included in this special EcoBoost Mustang that’s limited to fewer than 600 examples as it celebrates the legendary designer.
There was a time in the 1990s into the early 2000s when it was common to see someone wearing a Troy Lee Designs shirt or decked out in TLD gear as they headed out to ride on their favorite dirtbike trail. The man behind the name was once a motocross racer himself but soon dropped those aspirations to take up painting helmets for his fellow professional riders. But once Lee worked in conjunction with Shoei helmets, business picked up and soon he was making full lines of motocross and mountain-bike apparel and safety gear. This continues today, but TLD does. Sometimes as a collaborator on a pro race car driver’s custom helmet and sometimes on entire vehicles like the 2026 Ford Mustang EcoBoost TLD Signature Edition.starts off by adding the Mustang GT’s front bodywork, including its vented hood, front fascia, and grille. From there, the car is painted Shadow Black, the exclusive body color of this limited edition. Sinister Bronze galloping horse emblems and grille “nostrils” are installed, and a matching set of 19-inch wheels finishes out the Ford factory upgrades. Lee dug into his graphics-design experience and created a stripe kit that integrates the pony badge and the Ford logo with red, orange, purple, and yellow. The resultant look seems like it was lifted straight from the ’90s but is applied tastefully onto this modern Mustang body.Inside, the interior is finished with Carmine Red materials and a serialized badge with the “Troy Lee Designs” logo and a multicolored pony stripe on the far passenger side of the dashboard. Along with the Carmine, red contrast stitching fancies up the seats, center console lid, dashboard, and shifter boot. Red edge stitching is used on the black seatbelts. The 2026 Ford Mustang EcoBoost TLD Signature Edition is available now and adds an additional $3,000 to the EcoBoost’s $34,635 starting price, for a cost of $37,635.
