With Google Maps built in, the ZDX can start preconditioning its battery when it notices the driver is headed for a charging station car auto cars
. This includes preconditioning the battery if it notices that the driver is headed to a DC fast charging station, to help reduce charging times.
Drivers will also be able to control certain vehicle functions with their voice via Google Assistant. That will allow them to make a call, set a reminder, change the temperature inside the vehicle, set their destination, and control various media functions.
In addition to Google’s suite of technologies, Acura will also fit the ZDX with a standard digital instrument display behind the steering wheel, a large center touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more. Over-the-air updates will help keep all of the ZDX’s technology up to date.
The new ZDX and ZDX Type S are being co-developed with GM, utilizing the American automaker’s Ultium battery technology. The new EV will be sold exclusively online, starting in 2024.
