Ever since Toyota launched itsof off-road vehicles on the 2015 Tacoma the company has offered a unique, limited-edition, one-year only signature color.

With facilities in Newport Beach, Calif., and Ann Arbor, Mich., Calty has been instrumental in the development and design of Toyota vehicles in North America, most recently turning out the all-new 2024 Tacoma.The process of settling on a color is a complex mix of analyzing market trends, studying consume insights and feedback, and letting the creative juices run wild.
These formulas are unique to the color and the plant the produces it and can be affected by everything from temperature and humidity to the equipment that's applying it. The 2023 signature color, Solar Octane, is more than just orange, for example. Calty designers utilized a dash of pearl in the mix to really make the color pop in the sun.
