British band The 1975 say they have cancelled their shows in Taiwan and Indonesia, a day after Malaysia banned them from performing there due to an onstage same-sex kiss.

"The band never take the decision to cancel a show lightly and had been eagerly looking forward to playing for fans in Jakarta and Taipei but unfortunately, due to current circumstances, it is impossible to proceed with the scheduled shows," the pop rock group said in a statement, without elaborating.
The government cancelled the festival on Saturday and barred The 1975 from the country in response to what it called "disrespectful actions".The incident also angered members of the LGBT community, who said Healy's actions could expose LGBT people to more stigma and discrimination.
