Star Wars contains a long list of odd alien races, both in canon and in Legends, and 10 of these species are the weirdest in the entire franchise.
Star Wars is full of whimsically unique lifeforms, but 10 of these alien races are weirder than all the others. The original Star Wars movie introduced Luke Skywalker and the audience to a wider galaxy full of different species from thousands of worlds. As strange as they may have seemed to Luke, the aliens in the Mos Eisley Cantina were only the tip of the iceberg, with Star Wars continuing to introduce new races over the following decades.
9 The Killiks The Killiks weren't the first insect-like aliens featured in Star Wars, but Troy Denning chose to emphasize this trait in the Dark Nest trilogy. They were a hive-minded society, essentially serving as one individual, and they could incorporate other lifeforms into the hive as well. Members of Luke's New Jedi Order found themselves in this situation, committed to protecting the hive and becoming oddly comfortable with some of the Killiks' unusual rituals.
6 The Hutts Ever since Jabba's reveal in Return of the Jedi, the Hutts have consistently been one of the weirdest Star Wars aliens in all their appearances. Highly detailed grossness, eating an assortment of small creatures, and outrageous creature design left a big impression on viewers. Despite their outward appearance and behavior, the Hutts have also proved themselves to be some of the most cunning and powerful villains in the Star Wars universe.
3 The Ssi-ruuk The Ssi-ruuk were a reptilian species that Emperor Palpatine made a pact for access to their unusual technology. They used a process called enrichment to drain the life of sentient beings to power their technology, which they used to conquer worlds in their region of the galaxy. Because of their own strict caste system, determined largely by skin color, the Ssi-ruuk were xenophobic towards other species.
