As we head into Thanksgiving, NOAA forecasters anticipate temperatures close to seasonal normals in most areas of the country, but there will be increased chances of precipitation in some places. and give yourself extra time to travel if rain or snow is predicted to occur along your path.
From Thursday night to early Saturday, there is the potential for snow-related travel disruptions in parts of the Southern Plains, especially from eastern New Mexico, through the Texas Panhandle and into western Oklahoma. In contrast, the Western U.S. will be mostly dry, though rain and higher-elevation snow will arrive in the Northwest over the weekend.Outside of the contiguous U.S., unsettled weather conditions will be possible in parts of Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands on or around Thanksgiving Day.
