Kuala Lumpur: The authorities in Thailand have launched a search for a young Malaysian woman who has been missing since her last known whereabouts in the northern Chiang Rai province bordering Myanmar.

Angie Chong Sum Yee, 22, last sent her family pictures taken on June 1 during a visit to Mae Sai town in Chiang Rai, which is close to Myanmar’s Tachilek town, The Bangkok Post reported today.Chong’s mother, Chee Choy Wen who is from Johor, has not been able to contact her since and fears her daughter may have crossed into Tachilek, Myanmar and be in danger.
