Texas Parks and Wildlife will stock thousands of rainbow trout in lakes, ponds and rivers, including several in and near San Antonio.
Texas Parks and Wildlife will begin stocking thousands of rainbow trout in state waterways and lakes next week for anglers to catch throughout the winter. From Nov. 27 through March 9, the agency will put almost 350,000 of the fish in lakes and rivers around the state, TPWD said in a news release. Rainbow trout love cold water and are unable to survive in much of the state during the rest of the year due to warm water temperatures, Parks and Wildlife said.
