SAN ANTONIO - The Texas and Wildlife Department wants to protect the rare Alligator Snapping Turtle from out-of-state poachers.Federal and state law agencies have been working together to bust poaching and return the AST back to their natural habitats in Texas waters. Texas and Wildlife Department are offering up to $1,000 for anyone who reports poaching of ASTs through Operation Game Thief – 800-792-GAME .
