We support a new gun ban at the State Fair this year.We’re glad the Texas Supreme Court has ruled against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and upheld a reasonable and plainly legal gun ban at the State Fair of Texas this year.
We’re referring to Paxton’s antics during this year’s primary when he and an allied group, Texans for Responsible Judges, campaigned against three Republican incumbents on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Their sin? They ruled against him in a 2021 election law case in which he sought broader prosecutorial authority.In the first shooting at the State Fair since 1988, three people were injured last year when gunfire broke out in a crowded food court.
