Texas students, school staff members, parents and community members are encouraged to wear white and maroon Tuesday in solidarity with Uvalde as students there return to the classroom for the first time since the mass shooting.

UVALDE, Texas — Emotions will be running high on Tuesday as students in Uvalde CISD return to the classroom following the May 24 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School that claimed the lives of 19 children and two teachers.

School districts across the state are encouraging students, staff, parents and community members to wear white and maroon Tuesday – the school district’s colors – in a show of solidarity with Uvalde. Among the districts participating is Fort Worth ISD. “We want our friends and fellow educators in Uvalde to know we are thinking of them on this their first day of school,” said FWISD Interim Superintendent Karen Molinar. “And, that we will continue to support them throughout the 2022-23 school year.”On Tuesday, September 6, we encourage PfISD students, parents, staff, and community members to ‘Stand with Uvalde’ by wearing maroon and white.
