Texas State University is set to expand outside the U.S. for the first time by partnering with a group of Mexican investors, including the race car driver Ricardo González, to open a campus in a master-planned community outside the city of Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico .

A dormitory building that will be devoted to Texas State students is being finished up, as well as a multi-purpose building that will include classrooms and study areas. The hope is for the Texas State campus eventually to have its own sports facilities, including a football field and football team.
