Two men drew condemnation from the university after carrying the signs onto campus in the Texas Hill Country city of San Marcos.

Texas State University is condemning 'disgusting messages' brought to its San Marcos campus by demonstrators with signs declaring women property. In a letter to the campus community Thursday, President Kelly Damphousse said that two men who were not university students, faculty or staff arrived on campus just after noon Wednesday carrying signs with 'homophobic and misogynistic messages.

Next cold front surges through South Texas by Friday evening. Here's what to expect. Damphousse said University Police Department officers and its trained 'expressive activity team' went to the area to monitor the demonstration, which had drawn a crowd. The men left campus about an hour later.
