The State Fair of Texas is delaying its Sunday opening by four hours after three people were wounded in a shooting at the fair the night before.
The fair plans to open at 2 p.m., letting customers back in for the first time since Fair Park was evacuated by Dallas police following Saturday night’s shooting.

Police have not described a potential motive for the shooting.

A key unanswered question is whether the shooter legally took his firearm inside the fair, and if not, how the weapon was able to be brought in. The State Fair of Texas “has long allowed FairFairgoers enter Fair Park through an “open gate system” that is meant to detect large, bulky metal items, such as guns or other weapons.
