Texas spent nearly $2.5 million on recruiting during the 2022 fiscal year. That top-10 budget helped produce a top-10 signing class.
But did all that spending equate to success on the notoriously cutthroat recruiting trail during that period? Without question, yes.
Five of the 10 schools that spent the most on recruiting during the 2022 cycle finished with a top-10 class, per 247Sports’ rankings. Two of the other schools with top-10 classes, Notre Dame and USC, likely would have been among or near the top 10 in expenses if they were required to report their finances.
