MILWAUKEE — The floor of the Republican National Convention is crowded and loud. But one participant remains chill through it all: Tzeitel, a 2-year-old goldendoodle.
She is accompanying Alberto L. Herrera of McAllen, a delegate for Congressional District 15. As a service dog, Tzeitel is trained to tune out the applause, flashy lights, loud music and other fanfare during the convention festivities.On the second night of the four-day GOP event, when we met her, Tzeitel was mostly resting under a bright red cowboy hat. Her other outfits includeTzeitel is quiet. Unless you knew to look, you might miss her along the aisle not far from the podium.
Herrera said Tzeitel’s mother was one of his favorite service dogs, and he wanted to keep the bloodline going.
