The Texas Education Agency has announced that the Northeast Independent School District is under scrutiny for allegedly failing to comply with state standards.According to the TEA, NEISD did not implement a district-wide plan to meet TEA standards and failed to take corrective actions by the Nov. 6 deadline last fall.The district will have 30 days to respond. If the state is not satisfied with the response, it could impose sanctions, such as appointing a state monitor to oversee district operations. The state would remain in charge of NEISD until it determines the district has improved and met TEA standards.
