Monday, July 1st, at South Padre Island Birding Nature and Alligator Sanctuary a roundup of all the gators ahead of potential gulf activity. But as Christian Von Preysing reports -- volunteers at an alligator sanctuary in Texas say it's important to move the gators out of harm's way so they don't hurt themselves or the public.
One of the large adults here, a female named Laguna. Laguna came out without much resistance. She's protecting a nest of eggs she just laid here. Two weeks ago tropical storm Alberto caused storm surge and flooding here on the island causing pond levels to rise. They're rounding up all the gators and taking them to their sister organization called Gator Country in Beaumont.
