Texas Rangers looking to take Silver Boot title from Astros for first time since 2016

The Rangers haven’t won the season series against Houston in nearly a decade, aside from their win over the Astros in the 2023 ALCS.

To commemorate the event, the two franchises agreed to create a “Silver Boot” trophy for the years they faced off. As Interleague play developed, MLB set up a rivalry series, allowing the Rangers and Astros to meet six times each season. In 2013, the Astros moved to the AL West, which allowed the two franchises to play each other more often each season.Bochy said he thinks the rivalry between the two teams will continue to progress throughout the years, especially after the Rangers claimed the World Series title last season.“I think you have to look at the logistics of it, how close they are – we’re both in the state of Texas,” Bochy said.
