Texas Rangers pitcher José Leclerc thew two scoreless innings to gain the win on Friday in Game 1 of the World Series at Globe Life Field.Maligned for most of the regular season, the Texas Rangers bullpen held firm in the 6-5 extra-inning win over the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 1 of the World Series on FridayAfter Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi gave up five runs in 4.2 innings, five Rangers relievers combined for 6.
The Rangers bullpen was ranked last in the MLB in saves in the regular season only converting 30 of 63 save opportunities. The parade of relievers started with Dane Dunning , followed by Cody Bradford , Jon Gray and Will Smith . Closer Jose Leclerc then entered the game in the 10th inning and pitched two scoreless innings to gain the win.
The five relievers did not allow a walk and struck out six.
