Officials have called for additional firefighters to be positioned across areas of concern that could be in need of assistance and resources.Currently, firefighters are staged in Alpine, Amarillo, Big Spring, Childress, Fort Stockton, Lubbock and San Angelo among other locations. High winds, gusting to 65 mph, and low humidity will align with dry grass vegetation may result in large wildfires that are difficult to control.
