ERCOT has also been working on reducing weather forecast error and improving the forecasting software testing process. They are utilizing Emergency Response Capability System (ECRS) to address unexpected or rapid changes in supply or demand. The agency is also collaborating with generators and transmission operators to schedule maintenance during the shoulder months, allowing ERCOT to reliably operate the grid during off-peak seasons. Communication between agencies has also been improved through the Texas Department of Emergency Management and the Texas Energy Reliability Council.
