Tens of thousands of Texans experienced brief power outages on Tuesday due to ice and snow, but the state's electric grid remained stable despite a surge in demand. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) reported sufficient capacity to meet high energy needs as temperatures plunged into the teens.
