A Texas legislative committee is recommending GOP Rep. Bryan Slaton be expelled for inappropriate sexual conduct with an intern.

AUSTIN, Texas — A Texas legislative committee recommended Saturday that GOP Rep. Bryan Slaton be expelled for inappropriate sexual conduct with a 19-year-old intern. Slaton, from Royse City, could face an expulsion vote by the full House as early as Tuesday.A Texas legislative committee recommended Saturday that GOP Rep.

The committee's report says the intern was Slaton's subordinate, and that Slaton provided her with alcohol and then had inappropriate sexual conduct with her. “Rep. Slaton then acted systematically to influence that subordinate and multiple witnesses and obstruct the investigation into the matter to the detriment of both our chamber and those who work here,” Committee Chairman Andrew Murr, a Republican, told the 150-member House on Saturday.

The investigation began after three young women working at the Statehouse filed complaints. The committee then retained a former state judge to conduct the investigation, which confirmed the complaints, Murr said. Murr said he expects a resolution calling for Slaton's expulsion on Tuesday. Expelling Slaton would require a two-thirds vote from House members.
