The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has insisted that people are not going to lose coverage.
Mothers and children in Texas are bracing for a major change to their health care coverage after the state made a decision to reshuffle Medicaid contracts.The Texas Health and Human Services Commission announced its plan to award $116 billion in Medicaid contracts earlier this year and has faced strong backlash for it, as it is set to scrap three major health plans run by the state's nonprofit children's hospitals.
'The kids are going to suffer as part of that process, and that certainly isn't acceptable.'The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has insisted that people are not going to lose coverage.'A change in managed care organizations holding contracts with HHSC does not affect whether a Medicaid recipient receives services, nor does it affect the services that a recipient is eligible to receive,' the HHSC said in a statement.
