A Texas man wasn't going to miss a competition at RodeoHouston due to the city's traffic, so he took his horse and rode to the NRG Stadium. Houston's traffic is tough, but Marty Yates is tougher. The 29-year-old was heading to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Wednesday on Interstate 610 near Fannin Street when his family was delayed by traffic.
'We gotta provide for the baby.' The Stephenville native made it to the semi-finals and secured his spot at the finals with a score of 8.1 seconds and $3,000, Sports Illustrated reported. 'Finals bound in Houston!!' Loni Kay Yates wrote on Facebook. The rodeo competitor received praise from others cheering him on after hearing that he traveled to NRG Stadium by horseback and is continuing to the finals.
