A 55-year-old Texas man, Michael Lewis, is facing felony stalking charges after allegedly sending threatening and sexually explicit messages to WNBA star Caitlin Clark . Lewis, who drove to Indianapolis shortly before his arrest, was tracked down to a local hotel by authorities. A week before his arrest, police confronted Lewis about the disturbing messages. Lewis claimed they were merely fantasies, with no intention of acting on them, and insisted he was in Indianapolis on vacation.
However, court documents obtained by TMZ Sports reveal that Clark was aware of the stalking and even altered her public appearances due to safety concerns. One message from Lewis, according to court documents, stated, “Been driving around your house 3x a day..but don’t call the law just yet, the public is allowed to drive by gainbridge..aka Caitlin’s Fieldhouse.” Another chilling message read, “im getting tickets. Im sitting behind the bench..and im gonna f em up…watch me….settle down Michael..ur stuck in snow.” Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears commended Clark for courageously coming forward and reporting the alleged stalking and threats. He emphasized the importance of victims speaking out, stating, “It takes a lot of courage for women to come forward in these cases, which is why many don’t. In doing so, the victim is setting an example for all women who deserve to live and work in Indy without the threat of sexual violence.
