Texas is going California on its housing policy | Opinion
And while California offers a cautionary tale of bad housing policy, its growing YIMBY movement is charting a different course. In recent years, a motley coalition has emerged demanding more housing.
Texas still has time to avoid the mistakes of its archrival. But this legislative session showed that its lawmakers could benefit from a dollop of YIMBYism. Remember the Alamo, sure, but also remember basic economics: Government restrictions on supply lead to increased prices. Duncan Hosie is a writer and lawyer based in California.
