A new search and rescue organization is lending its expertise to the ongoing efforts to locate 8-year-old Clara Robinson , who has been missing since her family's SUV crashed in Sherman on Christmas Eve. Sherman police announced that Texas Equusearch has joined the search for the young girl.
This organization is renowned for its involvement in other high-profile searches across Texas, including the searches for Christina Morris in Collin County, Vanessa Guillen near Fort Hood, and Maleah Davis near Houston. 'We are incredibly grateful for their willingness to assist us in finding Clara. We share the same ultimate goal,' stated the Sherman Police Department.Police have diligently searched for Clara daily since December 24th, with the exception of a one-day pause last week due to inclement winter weather. Search teams are currently concentrating their efforts on various debris piles resulting from the accident.Clara Robinson and her family were traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 75 in Sherman, en route from Oklahoma to McKinney, when their SUV crashed. Authorities believe that heavy rainfall caused the vehicle to hydroplane, resulting in it landing in a flooded drainage ditch. Four out of the six family members were successfully rescued. Will Robinson, Clara's father, tragically lost his life while attempting to save his two daughters. First responders were able to revive his 5-year-old daughter, but there is still no trace of the 8-year-old. Will Robinson's body was discovered 2.5 miles downstream from the initial crash site.The four rescued members of the Robinson family have since returned home to Durant, Oklahoma. Will Robinson served as the girls' basketball coach at Durant High School. His players fondly remember him for his patience and unwavering encouragement. 'We would play a game and we would lose, and the way he would talk to us in the locker room afterward, you would think that we'd won,' shared Rachel Cordell. 'He was just always so encouraging and uplifting, and he wasn't afraid to tell you what you could do to get better.' They also described a special bond between him and Clara, who was affectionately known as C.J. 'They were absolutely two peas in a pod,' said Emeri Morse. 'They were at practice, always together, and C.J. would just run up to him or ask for snacks.' The entire community has rallied together to offer support and love to both the Robinson family and the first responders involved in the search. 'Your encouragement and engagement these past two and half weeks is appreciated and has served as a motivator for all of us,' expressed the Sherman Police Department in a recent update. 'Please continue to keep the Robinson family in your thoughts and prayers. Above everything else, they come first.
