Through the first four innings of Thursday night’s Fayetteville Super Regional opener, Texas’ Hailey Dolcini had managed to keep Arkansas from doing what it does best: pummeling softballs and racking up runs.
Arkansas broke open a scoreless game with three runs in the frame, two of them scored on a throwing error to home plate, ending Dolcini’s night and driving Texas back. The Razorbacks carried that momentum to take Game 1 in this best-of-three series 7-1 sending Texas to the brink with a must-win Game 2 scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Friday.
