Texas DPS troopers arrested a suspect on Sunday after a pursuit in Austin ended in the suspect's vehicle crashing into a median and rolling over.
Officials say the suspect had been involved in a pursuit days prior to his arrest where he drove the wrong way toward motorists. On Sunday, a DPS trooper located the same pickup truck involved in that incident and attempted a traffic stop; the driver accelerated and wove through traffic, evading arrest. State troopers conducted a "precision immobilization technique," or PIT, maneuver, ending the pursuit in less than a mile.
DPS says the vehicle then struck the median wall of the freeway and rolled over. The occupants were safely removed from the pickup truck, with two being treated for minor injuries by EMS. DPS says troopers also found marijuana and open containers of alcohol in the vehicle.
