Notably, the DFW Metroplex emerges as the leading U-Haul Growth Metro of 2024, attracting a significant number of customers. Texas boasts five metros in the top 25, with Austin at number 5 and Houston at number 9. This consistent growth trend places Texas among the top U-Haul Growth States since 2016.
Florida follows with seven metros in the top 25, showcasing its appeal. North Carolina also demonstrates growth with three metros in the top 14. The U-Haul Growth Index, compiled from over 2.5 million one-way U-Haul transactions annually, indicates net gain (or loss) of customers utilizing U-Haul equipment. Sean Fullerton, president of U-Haul Company of South Central Dallas, attributes the DFW Metroplex's growth to factors like reasonable cost of living, job growth, and tax breaks.
