A Texas-bound plane has landed in Glasgow after issuing an emergency code

The American Airlines flight, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, was flying from Frankfurt to Dallas on Sunday when crews declared an emergency by signalling a Squawk 7700. A Squawk 7700 code is used to communicate on-flight emergencies and, depending on the nature and severity of the situation, crews may conduct checks before formally declaring an emergency., the aircraft can be seen departing Germany at 10.50am, and flying over the Netherlands and the North Sea.The plane has landed in Glasgow and is expected to depart from there at 2pm.
