The Longhorns will finally get their chance to do just that Saturday afternoon when they face the Jayhawks at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. Here’s what to be aware of heading into Texas’ 11th regular season game:Kansas runs a dynamic form of the triple option, often operating out of the shotgun or pistol formation.

“They utilize the option game, and they tax you that way in the run game to where you have to be very disciplined in defending all three phases of the option game,” Sarkisian said. Its defense has struggled, especially of late, but Kansas’ offense has been among the nation’s best all season. The Jayhawks rank fourth in passing efficiency , 17th in scoring offense , 18th in rushing offense and 29th in total offense heading into Saturday’s game.
