A&M closed out the regular season with four consecutive wins and then won its first three games of the SEC tournament, including upsets of top-15 foes Auburn and Arkansas. The Aggies, in their fourth game in four days on Sunday,“You’ve got to control what you can control,” said A&M senior guard Quenton Jackson, who lost out on his final chance to play in an NCAA Tournament based on the committee’s decision.
A&M was one of the first four teams out of the 68-team NCAA Tournament field. Alcorn State made the NIT afterTSU earned the SWAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, and on Tuesday night in the First Four for the chance to face top-seeded Kansas on Thursday night in Fort Worth in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
