The Texans are signing defensive tackle Maliek Collins to a two-year, $23 million extension, a person with knowledge of the deal confirmed.
It is the second contract extension Collins has signed under general manager Nick Caserio, who included $20 million in guaranteed money in a deal that makes Collins a key fixture in their interior defensive line. Collins, 28, spent five seasons with the Cowboys and Raiders before initially signing with the Texans in 2021. He signed a two-year, $17 million extension last offseason, and, after recording 37 tackles, nine tackles for loss and 3½ sacks in 2022, the franchise extended Collins again under newly hired coach DeMeco Ryans.
