The Texans have signed No. 3 overall pick Will Anderson Jr. to his rookie deal, a source with knowledge of the signing confirmed to the Chronicle Friday. Anderson, a 6-foot-4, 243-pound edge rusher, was one of two Texan rookies who hadn’t signed their rookie deal. No. 2 overall pick C.J. Stroud was the other, and had not signed his deal as of noon Friday. Stroud is one of nine first-round draft picks who have not signed their rookie deals.Anderson’s deal is four years, $35.2 million, with a fifth-year option, the source confirmed. NFL Network’s Tom Pelisssero reported Anderson will also get a $22.6 million signing bonus.

The Texans sent the No. 12 pick, the No. 33 pick in the second round, and a first- and third-round pick in 2024 to the Cardinals for their No. 3 pick to draft Anderson. The trade was the talk of the draft, after the Texans went back-to-back with first-round selections.
