Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair has been ejected from Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after a violent collision with Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who was in the process of sliding when the hit occurred.

Lawrence rolled out to his left and tucked the ball with space to run. Nearing the first down marker, the quarterback initiated a slide to give himself up as Al-Shaair approached.As Lawrence slid, Al-Shaair lunged forward and met him head-on as he decelerated towards the turf, planting the back of Lawrence’s head into the grass.
Lawrence was eventually brought to his feet and carted off the field. Backup quarterback Mac Jones was brought into the game.
