The Houston Texans are set to interview Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich for their vacant offensive coordinator position. Stenavich, who has also interviewed for the Seattle Seahawks' offensive coordinator role, is a key figure in the Packers' high-powered offense.
Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich is expected to interview for the vacant position with the Houston Texans . Stenavich, 41, has been the offensive coordinator in Green Bay for the past three seasons and has also interviewed for the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator job. He has worked closely with coach Matt LaFleur in building out game plans and implementing strategy for a strong offense headlined by quarterback Jordan Love and running back Josh Jacobs .
The Packers' dynamic offense blends the power and speed of Jacobs as the centerpiece of a rugged running game and Love leading the passing game. The Packers averaged 27.1 points per game last season, ranking eighth in the NFL. They were fifth in total offense, 12th in passing, and fifth in rushing. Love passed for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions despite missing a few games with a knee injury. Jacobs rushed for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging 4.4 yards per attempt and 78.2 yards per game. Stenavich is the eighth candidate on an interview list that includes Texans quarterbacks coach and strong internal candidate Jerrod Johnson, Texans senior offensive assistant Bill Lazor, a former Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, and Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator, Syracuse offensive coordinator and running backs coach Jeff Nixon, Los Angeles Rams tight ends coach/passing game coordinator Nick Caley, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterbacks coach Thad Lewis, and Washington Commanders assistant head coach and offensive passing game coordinator Brian Johnson. He was first hired as offensive line coach and run game coordinator before replacing Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator in 2022. Stenavich is a former San Francisco 49ers assistant offensive line coach who worked for Kyle Shanahan from 2017 to 2018. He went undrafted and played for the Carolina Panthers, Packers, Dallas Cowboys, and Texans. First hired as a coach at Michigan in strength and conditioning and then as a graduate assistant, he was hired in 2014 as the offensive line coach at Northern Arizona.
