Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves on Friday said that the Bureau of Immigration officers had been ordered to "intercept" him upon his arrival from abroad."Ito ay halatang political persecution at pang-aabuso sa aking karapatang pantao," Teves said.

In a statement, the BI clarified that the monitoring of inviduals in high-profile cases is part of their security protocols. “The BI wishes to clarify that such instruction is merely a part of the BI’s protocols in monitoring individuals who are subject to high-profile cases.
