(UPDATE) CRIMINAL complaints were filed on Wednesday against Negros Oriental Third District Rep. Arnolfo 'Arnie' Teves Jr. for the murder of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo and nine others on March 4.
Teves has been tagged as one of the masterminds in the killing of Degamo.Teves and his brother, former Negros Oriental governor Pryde Henry Teves, have denied involvement in the killing.Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said that Teves was charged with multiple counts of murder, multiple counts of frustrated murder and multiple counts of attempted murder.Murder is a non-bailable offense.The National Bureau of Investigation filed the complaints before the Department of Justice .
He stood firm on the reliability of his source that said Teves will return to the Philippines on Wednesday, May 17, which did not happen.'What we know is Teves secured tickets. We have sources who tell us his movements,' Remulla said.Teves mocked Remulla's informants, dismissing the Justice secretary's announcement as 'fake news.''You want a more reliable source? Who is the more reliable source, their source or me?' he said in a radio interview.
