"Do your research," said a former regional sales manager who left Tesla in 2019. "There's going to be a lot of weight put on your knowledge of the company and [the CEO Elon Musk]. If they ask you what are the other companies that Elon founded or things that he invented and you don't know the answer to that, that's probably not going to get you very far in the door.

Working in Tesla's sales department, "you need to be a ray of sunshine 24/7," he said. "You need to be giving 130% effort at all times because if you give 95% they will catch that and they will call you out on it and they will remember it."
