Tesla registered a new high-resolution radar unit with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Is radar coming back?
In a response to another tweet, Green explained that high-resolution radar has the same benefits as radar but at a higher resolution. That makes sense. He added that it potentially has a higher frame rate but noted that this was just speculation for the time being.

Potentially higher frame rate too.Included in the FCC filing is a test report divided into two parts prepared by the Bay Area Compliance Labs Corps. According to Part 1, the test report was prepared at Tesla’s request on its product model, 1541584, and is referred to as the EUT, which is a non-pulsed automotive radar that operates in the 76–77 GHz spectrum while supporting 3 sensing modes.
In 2021, Tesla caused a bit of an uproar by removing radar from its newly made cars. The newly made cars are relying on aapproach. Perhaps Tesla is planning to incorporate radar back into its cars. Some may say this is a good move, and some critics would probably laugh and say “I told you so.” I change my mind all the time on things and this is a wise thing to do once you learn new information. This pertains to all aspects of life — not just Tesla and radar.
