Drivers are having some issues with the latest Tesla update

Tesla TSLA, -0.52% apparently has some work to do with its latest “Smart Summon” autonomous driving software, which allows drivers to basically “summon” their cars from as far away as 200 feet. Our Smart Summon feature means your car collects *you* from the parking lot. pic.twitter.com/boEtjJlY1V

— Tesla September 26, 2019 But, in recent days, videos of Tesla owners trying out the feature have been shared across social media, and, as you can see, it didn’t always go as planned. So, @elonmusk - My first test of Smart Summon didn't go so well. @Tesla #Tesla #Model3 pic.twitter.com/yC1oBWdq1IBe forewarned @Tesla @elonmusk Enhanced summon isn’t safe or production ready. Tried in my empty drive way. Car went forward and ran into the side of garage. Love the car but saddened.

Soday 1 with V10 Smart Summon was working beautifully. But someone didn’t notice my M3 and made a front bumper damage. We will claim our insurances but who’s fault do you guys think it’ll be ? Should I present this videos ? @teslaownersSV @Model3Owners @LikeTeslaKim @TesLatino pic.twitter.com/fhSA78oD6C@Tesla @elonmusk you’ve ruined every other car on the planet for me, and especially my children who are any where from 2 to 10 years away from driving. pic.twitter.

— Shareef Yousef September 28, 2019 Tesla, for its part, warns on its website that drivers are “still responsible for your car and must monitor it and its surroundings at all times and be within your line of sight because it may not detect obstacles.” Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment on these videos.Shawn Langlois Shawn Langlois is an editor and writer for MarketWatch in Los Angeles.
