If accurate, this is at least the second time a Tesla steering wheel has fallen off while driving in the past three years.
The steering wheel reportedly came off while the vehicle was in motion. This would be at least the second incident of a new Tesla's wheel falling off since 2020, when the same happened to a Tesla Model 3 sedan.
Screenshots of a conversation between the owner and Tesla service appear to show Prerak request a full refund and return of the vehicle as they no longer feel safe driving it. It seems the Tesla service response ignored this, and further screenshots show a scheduled appointment for repairs and a charge owed by the owner, which they are now protesting in further posts on their Twitter account as of earlier today.
