The Tesla Model Y has been updated with new styling, an upgraded interior, and a new infotainment system. The fully loaded Model Y Launch Series is available for $59,990.
The Tesla Model Y has received its first major update since the electric compact crossover's 2019 debut. Deliveries of the updated model begin in the U.S. in March, and the only version currently available is a fully loaded Model Y Launch Series priced from $59,990, excluding destination. Unique touches for the Launch Series include the model-specific tailgate badge, puddle lamps, door sill tread plates, and “ Launch Series ” script on the center console.
There's also a black interior with premium materials, an audio system with 15 speakers and a subwoofer, plus Tesla's Long Range All-Wheel Drive powertrain. Tesla doesn't mention horsepower but has stated the vehicle can hit between 303 and 320 miles. The pre-facelifted Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive hits 60 in 4.8 seconds, tops out at 135 mph, and has an EPA range estimate of 311 miles. Buyers on a stricter budget can still order the pre-facelifted version, for entry-level Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive guise, excluding the destination charge. The updated Model Y is easily recognizable by its new front styling. There are now light bars at both ends, with the front design borrowing its look from the Model S. The interior has also been refreshed with a new ambient lighting package, a 15.4-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, an 8.0-inch rear screen, ventilated seats, and power-reclining rear seats that fold flat for a more comfortable ride and added acoustic glass to provide a quieter experience in the cabin.
